a joint venture is a project involving multiple companies.  joint means shared or connected.  there is another example in today’s news

U.S. and Australia are considering a joint or shared base arrangement.  The arrangement, somewhat controversial in Australia, would probably mean more U.S. service members on Australian soil.  In a television interview, Prime Minister Julia Gillard said closer military cooperation serves Australian interests.  “It does give the possibility, of course, for further joint exercises, further collaboration,”

another meaning for joint is marijuana cigarette.

the character turtle is looking for marijuana when during a cel phone conversation at :10 on the video he says

later in the episode, eric and vince of the entourage smoke a joint with movie producer scott wick in his car
